Scheduled maintenance
All cars have factory-recommended maintenance schedules. Not following them may void parts of your vehicle’s warranty.
Scheduled maintenance can include oil changes, transmission fluid checks, and timing belt replacements. While these replacements can be costly, they can prevent major engine repairs later on.
If you’re unsure about your vehicle’s needs, bring it in for an inspection by our ASE-certified technicians.

Safety & Emissions
You should always plan on getting your car inspected 30-45 days in advance of the expiration date. This will allow you time to evaluate your options if major repairs are required. Just bring your insurance and registration cards.
You are allowed to have your inspection done 90 days prior to the expiration date. Please note that the inspection date does not change when you do this. So if it expires in September and you have it down in July the new sticker will still be for September. The inspection date is located on the lower driver’s side corner on the windshield. Inspections are due by the last day of the month in which the inspection is due.

Vehicle Diagnostics
Got a dashboard light on, like check engine or ABS? It’s best to bring your vehicle in, as ignoring it could lead to significant damage and higher repair costs.
Modern vehicles are equipped with onboard diagnostic systems that monitor the engine, transmission, and other vital systems. These systems adjust parameters like air/fuel mix and temperature for optimal efficiency and low emissions. If something isn’t right, a warning light will appear.
Remember, in PA, you can’t pass the state-mandated emissions inspection with your check engine light on.
A solid lit check engine light is typically a less severe problem like sensor issues that cause emissions to increase and fuel economy to worsen. It can also be a sign of larger problems and should be checked as soon as possible.
When your oil pressure warning light comes on, pull over safely and turn off your engine. After allowing it to cool, check the oil level with the dipstick, and top it off if it's low. If the light stays on, have a mechanic inspect your vehicle promptly, as this could indicate a serious issue like an oil pump failure or leak. Addressing it quickly can prevent major engine damage.
When your tire pressure warning light comes on, pull over safely and check the tire pressures with a gauge. Inflate any under-inflated tires to the recommended levels. If the light remains on or if you see damage or a flat tire, have a professional inspect your vehicle. Maintaining proper tire pressure is essential for safe driving and fuel efficiency.
When your battery service warning light comes on, check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. If they look good, the battery may be losing charge or the alternator could be failing. Limit driving and have a mechanic inspect the battery and electrical system as soon as possible to avoid breakdowns.
If your engine temperature warning light comes on, pull over safely and turn off the engine immediately to prevent damage. Allow the engine to cool down before checking the coolant level in the reservoir. If it’s low, refill it and check for leaks. If the light stays on after addressing the coolant, have a mechanic inspect your vehicle right away.
If your engine light is blinking, pull over safely and turn off the engine immediately, as this indicates a serious issue. Avoid driving and check for any unusual smells or sounds. Once the engine has cooled, have your vehicle inspected by a mechanic as soon as possible to diagnose and address the problem.
If your ABS warning light comes on, first check the brake fluid level and top it off if it's low. Also, ensure your wheels and tires are in good condition. If the light stays on, have a mechanic inspect your vehicle, as a malfunction in the ABS system can compromise braking safety.
If your traction warning light comes on, it may indicate slippery conditions. Drive cautiously and avoid sudden movements. If the light stays on after driving normally, check for debris on wheel sensors. If it persists, have a mechanic inspect the traction control system.
Services for brakes
Pros: Organic brake pads are perfect where extremely smooth braking performance is desired and usually have no metal material.
Cons: Due to their softer material, organic pads wear faster and may not be suitable for all vehicles.
Pros: Besides being quieter, ceramic brake pads can handle extremely high temperatures with little fade, allowing them to recover quickly and cause less damage to the rotors. Also, when ceramic brake pads wear down, they create a finer, lighter dust than semi-metallic pads, and the dust doesn’t stick to wheels. Finally, studies have found that ceramic brake pads have a longer life span without ever sacrificing noise control, rotor life or braking performance.
Cons: Typically more expensive than semi-metallic pads. Please note that some ceramic pads aren’t suitable for all vehicles.
Pros: Metallic or semi-metallic brake pads are usually more reasonably prices and typically very durable. Because they are composed mainly of metal combinations, they will not wear down quickly, and are slow to become too hot from friction.
Cons: Metallic brake pads tend to have squealing sounds that drivers frequently complain about as brakes are applied. This is usually caused by the metal of the pad grates against the metal of the brake rotor. Over time the rotor can become grooved or worn over time.
